The Mall

One place that you cannot ignore is definitely the Mall Road in Shimla. Located at the heart of the town, the Mall Road in Simla is one of the busiest commercial arMall Road Shimlaeas of this place. Built by the British during the colonial rule in India, the Mall Road was constructed keeping in mind the traffic on this route. Entry of vehicles was banned though cycle rickshaws were allowed. It has been built in a very strategic and planned way.
The Mall is Shimla's main promenade. Here, contemporary commercial enterprises rub shoulders with stately colonial edifices, churches and other landmarks of the town. At one end of The Mall is the city's colourful local market, called Lakkar Bazaar.
 

The Viceregal Lodge

The Viceregal Lodge, Shimla is the most historically significant and architectural impressive building of the region that makes for a pleasant half-day excursion. The Viceregal Lodge was the summer residence of the Indian Viceroy, the British Raj leader who governed the whole ofViceregal Lodge the Indian subcontinent between 1888 until 1946. Within the Viceroy Lodge many significant decisions from this era about India were devised, discussed and agreed upon. Through its grand history, it has also been the Rashtrapati Niwas (The President's residence). Today, it houses the Indian Institute of Advanced Studies.

Sankat Mochan

A temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman, the temple is an very excellent view of the town.

Kufri

An enjoyable drive through forests and small villages leads to this small but popular station. The Nature kufriPark here is a great attraction. A short trek leads to the Mahasu Peak with breathtaking views.  An inviting ski destination in Himachal Pradesh, Kufri has lured mountain lovers for decades. The slopes are not for professionals, but the short to advanced runs are tailor-made for the enthusiast. Yak rides for children are an added attraction.

Naldehra Golf Course

  In 1905, the Viceroy of India, Lord Curzon became so captivated with the beauty of Naldehra, a place 22 kilometers from him summer capital Shimla, that he would often come and camp here for days on end. It was probably for the memory oh his stay here, that he named his third daughter ‘Alexander Naldehra’ & it was on his favorite camping site that he established what tNaldehra Golf Courseoday is one of the oldest & most scenic golf courses in the country.The course boasts of considerable character with wide views of the Himalayas, surrounded by thick woods & comes complete with an ancient temple by the greens, built in traditional style. The Naldehra Golf Club is an unusual course, perched at an altitude of 2,200 meters; under a thick mane of Himalayan Cedar ; “Deodar Trees”. It is a par 68, 18 Hole Golf Course with 16 Greens and 18 Tees. Designed over a long sloping glade, the course is regarded as one of the most challenging in the Country. It is about an hour's drive from the hotel. Viceroy Lord Curzon was so enchanted by this spot that his daughter's middle name is Naldehra. He also created India's first nine-hole golf course at this site, and the perfect season is between April and October.
